Program 1 (Ontario Command)
The Royal Canadian Legion, Ontario Command Charitable Foundation & Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Ontario Command Bursary Assistance Programs.
The bursary programs are designed to assist students entering or continuing their post-secondary education, including courses and programs of a technical and vocational nature, outside of and beyond secondary school. Approved bursary assistance is not based upon scholastic standing but rather on the successful admission status to a post secondary institution or successful completion of one or more years leading to a recognized degree, diploma or certificate.
Students may be granted bursary assistance based on documented need in the amount of $500 per scholastic year.
1. Canadian and Commonwealth war veterans and their children and grandchildren.
2. Ordinary and Life members of the Royal Canadian Legion, their children & grandchildren.
3. Associate members of the Royal Canadian legion and the children.
4. Ladies Auxiliary members and their children and grandchildren.
Program 2 (Central Muskoka Branch 161, Bracebridge)
The“Don Chalmers Memorial” and the Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 161 “Marg Brazier Memorial” Bursary. This bursary assistance requirement is the same as program 1, except that relationship to a Legion member or veteran is not a prerequisite and neither is the age of the applicant. Up to $500.00 per year is available depending on the number of approved applicants. Application must be made annually for continued support.
